    Female lions usually give birth to 2 or three cubs, each weighing in at about 3 pounds. Some mothers will nurture their babies, a few will abandon them altogether, in particular when there isnrrrt enough food. Typically, several females from the pride will give birth simultaneously and consequently, each of the cubs will likely be raised together. If needed, females will allow cubs which aren't theirs to drink their milk, that may sometimes provide the chance of an abandoned cub to survive. By the time cubs reach 2 yrs old, they may be very adept hunters. They are fully grown between the ages of 5 and 6 can live for as much as 13 years.

    Given lions work as a team when they hunt, they are able to take down prey much wider in comparison with are - hippos, rhinos, giraffes, and in many cases buffalo can be for the menu.
